Program Preferences

Program Preferences

Hello, and welcome to the AgWare ClickForms program preferences tutorial video.  In this video, I will explain the various program preferences that ClickForms has to offer.

First, we’ll start by opening the preferences window.  To do this, click on the Eagle head button in the upper left hand corner of the program.  In the bottom right of this menu, you should see preferences; click on it.  This will bring up a new window in ClickForms with various menu options on the left side.  There are three main sections in the preferences window: application, document, and AgWare, each of which is collapsible.  The first menu option is startup.  Here you can choose what happens when you open ClickForms.  You can choose whether you want to create a new empty container, you can display the template selection dialog box that will then allow you to choose which report template to open, you can open the most recently used file, or you can open a specific file by pasting the file path in the box.  You can also check this box if you would like the report to open to the last active cell.

The next menu option is folders.  This shows the configuration for several application folders.  AgWare recommends that you leave the default pathways as they are.  If you need to make a change to one of these paths, it’s best that you contact AgWare for assistance.  Next are the saving options.  Here you can choose to either enable or disable the auto save feature and choose the desired time interval.  The PDF creator is the last option in the application section.  Here you can choose whether you would like to use the ClickForms PDF creator or use an Adobe Acrobat Driver.

The next option is operation.  There are many options here that you can enable or disable, most of which are self-explanatory.  A useful set of options are the spell check options.  To edit the spell check options, click on the spell check options button.  This will open a new window where you can choose various spell check options.  You can also make changes to the custom dictionary by clicking on the dictionaries button.  Next are the printing options.  To conserve color ink, some users prefer that section titles be printed in gray rather than in blue.  If you would like to utilize this feature, make sure to check this box.  The other printing option is to turn on or off the printing of information fields such as net and gross values.  These will still be shown on the screen, if the print option is turned off.

Next are the color options.  Here you can change the colors for various items such as the text throughout the report, the form lines, the highlighted cell color, the free form text color, etc.  To change the color, simply click on the color box next to the desired option.  You can always change the colors back to their original colors by clicking the use defaults button.  The revert button changes the colors back to what they were previously.  You can also preview what the results will look like by clicking the preview button.  Next are the font options.  Here you have the option of changing the font for the entire current report, or all new reports as well.  To change the font, simply click change font and choose your desired font options.  If you want these font settings to apply to all new reports, be sure to check the box next to “use these font settings for all new documents.”

The last option is UAAR Sales Form.  Here you can choose the defaults for pasting sales into ClickForms.  Simply choose one of the template options, and then check whether or not you would like to import the improvement details and photo pages.

To recap, you can change many of the default options in ClickFORMS by going to the program preferences which are located in the Eagle head menu.
